Nau Mai, Haere mai ki te Kariti o Ōtaki
A very warm welcome to Ōtaki College.

2015 was a very exciting and rewarding year but already 2016 is looking like it will be full of many great opportunities to build on our successes. It is always wonderful to welcome our current students back as well as new students and their whanau/families at our powhiri. It appears that we are well above the Ministry of Education's anticipated roll number so we want to thank the community for the support they show us by entrusting their children in our care by enrolling at Ōtaki College.

This year staff have returned earlier than normal to spend time up-skilling in eLearning in order to give students greater opportunities to learn through 21st century teaching and learning pedagogy.

The staff at OC are committed to build on our academic performance and hope that this will be highlighted by the Education Review Office when they visit us this year.  Over the year we will also, hopefully, see the landscape change with building modernisation projects underway.

We hope to see whanau/families continuing to be engaged in their children's learning. This can be done by;
  • Attending meetings,
  • Joining the Home and School Committee
  • Joining Te Kahui Matua whanau support roopu
  • Coaching and managing teams
  • Going on school trips
  • Supporting school events/teams
We look forward to you all being part of the Ōtaki College community. If you ever have any concerns do not hesitate to be in touch. We are always here to help!
