It was an amazing and moving memorial. The white crosses all have names of soldiers and one nurse, who died during the war. Each cross was given to a class to research, then a slideshow was created and shown to the students, and outside visitors from the RSA prior to the outside ceremony. A film, which had been created by students (using green screen technology) of the poem "Flanders fields" was also shown. Then the whole school and visitors filed out where there was a karanga, and the names of the people on the crosses were read with a minute silence following. The white crosses will be in place in the College all of next week and has been declared as "tapu" by Andy Fraser (Principal), who also encouraged the students to sit and remember the soldiers and nurse who died throughout the week. Students showed the utmost respect during the memorial. The proceedings today will be included in a documentary film about the RSA.
