Rotary Interact Group

ŌC has an active Rotary Interact group. The group has close contact with the Ōtaki Rotary group and is supported by the Rotary youth Co-Ordinator, Marilyn Stevens and Teacher Megan Nelson-Latu. The group currently has 25 members, from Years 8 through to 13. In 2019, the group participated in Relay for life, raising just under $8000 for the  Cancer Society. In August, the College hosted the Rotary Interact District Day, with students from five other Colleges attending and they are currently in the process of deciding their next fundraising project. The group have also been involved in planting with Friends of the Ōtaki River and Ōtaki Rotary and in 2018 planted 1000 trees beside the Ōtaki River, which they had potted as seedlings in 2017. They have also decorated the town’s Main Street for Christmas and plan on doing so again in 2019.
