Kapiti Island

Takahe, Weka, Kereru, and Robins were all birds that the 19 International students had a close encounter with on their trip to Kapiti Island on 5 April 2016. To have four Takahe (pictured) come out of the bush without any fear of humans was a magic experience, along with Weka that came right up to their shoes asking for bread crumbs. The ferry ride across was exhilarating and the step walk up to the 521m summit a challenge. The view from the tower at the top was breath-taking and gave the students a real sense of the geography of the Kapiti Coast. A fabulous day was had by all, and finished off nicely with a Kapiti Ice-cream from Lindale.

The students were with Howard Manins (Director of International Education) and Ian McMillan (College Business Manager)
