Top Scholar for Year 12 - Nguyen (Brian) Van, from VietnamBrian has been studying at Otaki College since July 2016.
Congratulations go to Brian for being named the Top Scholar in Year 12 for 2018.
Brian achieved in many areas of the curriculum:
-First in Level 2 Physics, First in Level 3 Calculus, First in Level 2 Chemistry, First in Level 2 Mathematics, Merit in Level 2 Science, Merit in Level 2 English.
Achieved NCEA Level 2.
Brian has also received the International Student Trophy for both 2017 and 2018.
Brian will continue at Otaki College in 2019 where he will study for NCEA Level 3, University Entrance and Scholarship examinations.
Brian is not the only International Student to be recognised for academic success:
-Minh (David) Phung (Vietnam) - Merit in Business Computing, achieved NCEA Level 2
-Emily Int-Veen (Germany) - First in Level 1 Industrial Design, Merit in Digital Media
-Haruka Terauchi (Japan) - Merits in Business Computing and Level 1 Mathematics
- Haru Sasaki (Japan) - Merit in Te Reo Maori Language, Merit in Physical Education, Outstanding Overall Participation of an International Student while at Otaki College
-Donghyun (Steven) Kim (Korea) - First in Level 2 Business Computing
-Tatsuki Konishi (Japan) - Merit in Business Computing
-Anna Maritz (Austria) - First in Level 3 Physical Education, achieved NCEA Level 2
