Outdoor Education Department

Outdoor Education is a special feature of the College. Full-time qualified outdoor instructors are employed to run exciting, engaging programmes at all levels, from a core programme at Year 10 through to options at senior levels.

Activities utilise the wonderful environment in the Ōtaki region:- bush, rivers, mountains, beach and parks. Overnight trips also take students to locations further afield.

Activities include:

White water kayaking

Rock climbing

Caving

Challenge ropes course

Mountain biking

River safety

Alpine skills including sleeping in a snow cave

Tramping

Navigation

Risk management

Leadership in the outdoors
