These courses provide a number of opportunities for predominantly Year 12 and 13 students to gain industry skills (and credits towards NCEA), that they are generally not able to achieve at school. The courses also allow students to experience what life at a tertiary institution would be like and whether it could be a place for them to study post school. UCOL and the Primary ITO are our main providers. This year we have had students participating in the following areas: Level 1 Introduction to Trades, Level 2 vet nursing, automotive, construction, mechanical engineering, digital innovation, hair, retail and beauty, cafe skills, and at Level 3 - agriculture, health, mechatronics, construction, cookery and early childhood.
